YOU YOU YOU!

23 minutes and counting and I was still playing around with my eyes from product to product. Something about the way the sales boy looked at me told me he was tired of me. There was a sudden dilemma; I knew what I came to buy originally ...or let  me start this from the beginning.

Sometime last month, someone told me maybe I was under a phone curse "where phones don’t last in my hand", and I was beginning to give it thoughts. Maybe I needed some TB Joshua. It was that time of the year when I had to buy another phone (as usual, it always isπŸ˜‚) and the usual 'what phone to buy conundrum.' A few opinions left me thinking of having a 'Tecno' product. At least that was the popular match with my pocket. One brother suggested 'iphone7' and  the expression on my face told him betterπŸ˜‚. So I made up my mind for 'Tecno Camon Cx' which I initially didn’t know was not latest model (I’m not that forward with Tecno products). I settled for it not  just because I thought it was new, it fitted my pocket (literally) and my budget at the time and the specifications were a fair match for my mobile hunger (at least by low budget standard). So I headed to  one of the Slot outlets in PH all bright and ready to get a phone and I opened the door and BOOM.....it was a phone heaven. I instantly spotted the Tecno Camon show table and I walked to the sales boy and told him my pick. Then I spotted another beside it, a newer version, and I ignorantly asked why they were suddenly steadfast in unleashing new products and then he told me the Tecno Camon Cx wasn’t a new product, but the one beside it was, and then my dilemma began. It was 10k higher with more impressive specificationes of course. I could buy it ,at least I had another 10k. But that was for other stuff and I knew it would affect me if i did. Two ladies beside threw in their opinions I didn’t ask for:

"It’s better you go for the newer version, if it’s me I can’t buy an older when there is a newer one."  Right 😁but it wasn’t her, it was Me, Me, Me! I played from one product to another and I could tell the sales boy had lost his patience. Each new customer that came left the 'newer version comment'  and then my mind went aback πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’πŸ’..

It all reminded me of something similar. Yeah. I remember trying to fill in my preferred course in my JAMB form. I knew I wanted to study English/Literature. I knew I had passion beyond words for it. But it prolly wasn’t strong enough to beat my classmates' opinions which I minded.

"How would you study English/Literature intentionally? Those type of courses are always last resorts for people who can’t get admission for years."  And they instantly talked me out of my dream course.

Nobody understands you like you, nobody understands where you want to be headed like you. Nobody understands what you want like you, nobody understands your dream like you, and nobody understands your predicament like you!

Unfortunately, I didn’t know all that then, and I filled up another course (law) which up till my 4th year now I still regret.

"Bro, I would take my first pick," i told the sales boy. "Pack it up." And he packed it up with relief.  πŸ˜‚ It’s been two months and counting and I’m enjoying my phone. πŸ˜‰ Now it wouldn't be a big deal if I had followed opinions of other customers and bought the higher one, but like I said, only you knows you, only me knew my pocket, only me knew my budget. If there’s one thing I have learnt from making choices is, people talk from their point of views i.e by their standard, their level, how they reason ......you should be solely responsible for your choices after all, it’s you you you!
