The Silent dance
We often find ourselves grooving to beats only we can hear, dancing off key to the loud beat playing on the speakers.
Sometimes, we put in extra moves and those watching tag it much ado about nothing. Some other times we just sit and snap our fingers and they tag it 'detrimental complacency'. Most times, these comments get to us and we adjust our moves to the beat playing on the speakers and find ourselves in loss of steps; we look to the people dancing beside us and try to copy their steps , easily ignoring the genuine sounds playing in us. Soon the music on the speakers get too complicated for us to follow, everyone's dance moves change. You look to your neighbor whose opinion you so much minded to stop his dance and teach you his moves, but he's too deep into his music and can't even hear you. You watch his feet and try to copy but you miss steps very easily. You fall , you get tired rather easily , cause they aren't yours. 🎶🎶
You then realise you had your own beat playing in you. You had your groove, but left it cause of what they thought .
My point- we have different dreams, goals and personalities. We have different limits we have set out. Sometimes we have to work four times as hard to achieve what others achieve with three times less effort. We shouldn't get discouraged 'cause people aren't doing things how we do it. We all have what works for us, so let's look down within for our rhythm.
"For those who where seen dancing where thought to be insane by those who could not hear the beat."
-Friedrich Nietzsche
Listen to your rhythm.
