His eye bags looked like they carried all the memoirs his eye had seen and was ready for an outpour, the flesh around his cheek slacked and he sat down at his verandah as usual. He is papa Nnukwu, at least that’s what I hear them call him, I too started calling him papa Nnukwu. I get to see him once too often at least every morning and night or at mid-day when I have a reason to take this route. A lot of things to be admired in him, he is not your everyday old man, i like that he is still pulsating and still has his wife around who unlike him spends most of her day pacing .
He always sits in his verandah, and is fond of a green plastic small chair with his jaw on his hand. He obviously has a lot of down thinking time and it also gets me wondering what crosses his experienced mind when he sees young peeps pass, I do wonder what he spends all his time thinking about when he stares at the old Peugeot 501 packed in front of his house; life perhaps wondering what if all the risk he was scared to take actually worked ,wondering what would have happened if he didn’t give up when he did ,he probably stares at every young person passing wondering perhaps if they knew their youth is a gift ,wondering if they made what if's or oh wells.
OR maybe
He could be glad he took every risk he Could be glad he lived life to the fullest, he could be glad he maximized his youth ,he could be glad he left no 'what ifs' .

Either ways I wouldn't know , but here's what i know ,Papa Nnukwu is old🤷🏽♂ now
He stared at me with his heavy eyes ,I stared back at him,
"don't worry papa I did rather be an 'oh well"
